The short version
- We set no cookies ourselves. The site shows Google AdSense ads, and Google and its partners may use cookies (see Advertising).
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies, and doesn't run for visitors in the European Union (see Analytics).
- No accounts or sign-up.
- Your lumber list stays in your own browser, and in any share link you choose to copy.
Your lumber list
The calculator runs in your browser. What you type is saved in your browser's local storage on your device so it's still there next time, and it isn't sent to us. You can clear it with the calculator's Clear button or by clearing this site's data in your browser. The site also remembers your light or dark theme choice there.
When you press Copy share link, the whole list is written into the link itself (after ?s=). Anyone you give the link to can see the list, and the link is sent to our host as part of the web address when it's opened, like any URL.
Hosting and request logs
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request information (such as IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. We don't add anything to it or use it to identify visitors. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it detects suspicious traffic.
Analytics
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see how fast pages load. Its script uses no cookies or local storage, and Cloudflare says it doesn't fingerprint visitors by IP address or browser. We only see totals, such as page views, referring sites, countries and page load times, never who an individual visitor is. Web Analytics doesn't run for visitors in the European Union: Cloudflare doesn't add its script to pages served to them.
Advertising
The site shows ads from Google AdSense to pay for itself. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies such as local storage to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and out of other vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent message before personalized ads are shown.

Third parties
Google AdSense and the ad vendors it works with, and Cloudflare's Web Analytics script, as described above, are the only third parties the pages load. Fonts are self-hosted. Links to sources and to GitHub take you to those sites, which have their own policies.
Changes
If the site adds other analytics, more advertising partners or cookies of its own, this page will be updated at the same time, before they go live, with the date above. The site's code is public on GitHub, so changes can be checked.
